We operate outside of traditional insurance billing, allowing you to receive individualized, high-quality care without restrictions set by insurance companies. You can pay with cash, credit/debit, HSA/FSA cards, or check.

The Performance Shift is out-of-network for insurance. Your insurance may reimburse you for some or all of your PT services, especially if you have a PPO. We recommend calling your insurance company to verify your out-of-network benefits. Following your visits, you can submit your receipt and superbill to your insurance for reimbursment. Typically out-of-network benefits cover 40-80% of your visit, decreasing the appointment cost to a price similar to a copay. We’re happy to provide all necessary documentation.

Note: Reimbursement rates vary based on individual insurance benefits. Please contact your insurance carrier directly for additional information.

A superbill is a detailed receipt with medical coding that you can submit to your insurer to request reimbursement. We provide superbills upon request for each visit.

Functional Medicine

Functional medicine looks beyond symptom management to identify and address the root causes of imbalance. Instead of focusing only on what’s “wrong,” it takes a systems-based approach that connects how your lifestyle, nutrition, hormones, gut health, and environment work together.

Anyone looking to improve energy, focus, or overall wellbeing can benefit. Whether you’re dealing with chronic fatigue, hormone issues, digestive concerns, or simply want to optimize long-term performance, functional medicine helps create a personalized roadmap for lasting health.

It starts with a deep dive into your health history, advanced lab testing, and lifestyle assessment. From there, your practitioner builds a personalized plan that may include nutrition guidance, targeted supplements, stress management, and other strategies designed around your unique biology.

Everyone’s timeline is different, but many patients notice improvements in energy, sleep, and focus within weeks. Because functional medicine focuses on true healing and balance, deeper transformations often develop over several months as your body resets and restores optimal function.

IV Wellness

IV therapy, short for intravenous therapy, involves delivering fluids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream through a vein. By bypassing the digestive system, it allows for complete and immediate absorption.

The time it takes to administer an IV drip varies depending on the type selected. Most IV drips take between 45 minutes and 2 hours to complete, and clients can resume their normal activities right after treatment.

How often someone should get IV therapy varies from person to person. Each client’s needs are evaluated individually, with some benefiting from weekly treatments and others only needing them once a month.

Our team of registered nurses administers each IV treatment. They’re fully certified in IV therapy and home health care, ensuring professional, safe service. You can feel confident knowing they arrive equipped with proper PPE and prioritize your safety throughout the visit.

Sports and orthopedic massage therapy focuses on assessing and treating soft tissue dysfunction related to movement, performance, and recovery. It goes beyond relaxation—addressing muscle imbalances, tension patterns, and restrictions that affect how your body moves.

Anyone can. While athletes often use it to enhance performance and prevent injury, it’s just as effective for people dealing with chronic pain, postural issues, or recovering from everyday strain.

Each session begins with a brief movement or postural assessment, followed by targeted hands-on work. Techniques are customized to your needs—whether that’s improving mobility, relieving pain, or restoring optimal function.

Frequency depends on your goals. Some clients come weekly during recovery or training cycles, while others maintain a biweekly or monthly routine for ongoing maintenance and prevention.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

No. Colorado is a direct access state, so you can book your evaluation at Performance Shift without a physician referral. Most patients schedule directly through our website or by calling the clinic.

It can, but it is never required. An internal assessment gives your therapist the most detailed picture of how your pelvic floor muscles are functioning, but we always explain what is involved and only proceed with your full consent. Many patients are surprised by how comfortable and clinical the process is, and we can accomplish a great deal through external evaluation if that is your preference.

Most patients begin noticing meaningful changes within 4 to 6 weeks of consistent treatment. A typical course of care at Performance Shift runs 4 to 12 sessions depending on the complexity of the pelvic floor dysfunction being addressed. Some patients see improvement after just a few visits, while more complex cases may take longer. Your therapist will set clear expectations during your first session and adjust your treatment plan as you progress.

Yes. Pain during sex is one of the most common reasons patients seek pelvic floor physical therapy. This pain is often caused by pelvic floor muscles that are too tight, have increased muscle tone, or are not coordinating correctly. Conditions like vaginismus, vulvodynia, and dyspareunia all respond well to specialized pelvic floor treatment. Your therapist works with you to identify the source of pain and build a plan to restore comfortable, pain-free sexual function.

No, and that is a common misconception. Everyone has a pelvis, which means everyone can benefit from improved pelvic floor strength, control, and function. Men experience pelvic floor dysfunction too, including post-surgical incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, and tension that limits athletic performance. We work with males, females, and adolescents, and our team has specific training across all populations.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons patients come to see us. Pregnancy and delivery change the pelvic floor in ways that do not always resolve on their own. We also offer prenatal pelvic floor therapy for patients who want to prepare their body before delivery. Whether you are weeks or years postpartum, treatment can make a real difference.

Performance Shift is an out-of-network, cash-based practice, which means you pay directly for your sessions and receive a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. This model allows us to provide longer, one-on-one sessions with a specialist rather than shorter visits split between multiple patients. We accept HSA and FSA accounts, and our team can help you understand your out-of-network benefits before you start. Contact us for current session rates and package options.

The right pelvic floor physical therapist should hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with advanced training specifically in pelvic health, not just a weekend certification. You want someone who provides true one-on-one sessions, treats your specific concerns (whether that is pregnancy, postpartum recovery, male pelvic health, or return to sport), and builds a treatment plan around your individual goals. At Performance Shift, every pelvic floor session is private, led by the same dedicated specialist, and backed by an integrated care model that gives you access to sports PT, performance training, chiropractic, and nutrition all under one roof.

The Performance Shift is located at 6403 S Uvalda St Suite 300, Centennial, CO 80111. Our pelvic floor physical therapy clinic serves women, men, adolescents, and athletes across the south Denver metro area, including Centennial, Denver, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Greenwood Village, Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Aurora, Littleton, Parker, and Englewood.

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that stretches from your pubic bone to your tailbone. These muscles support your pelvic organs, help control your bladder and bowel, contribute to sexual function, and play a direct role in core stability during movement and heavy lifting. They also share connections with your lumbar spine and hips, making them an often overlooked piece in lower back pain and hip dysfunction.

The pelvic floor is active in daily activities you may not think about, from going to the bathroom to picking up your child, coughing, laughing, and sneezing. When these muscles are too tight, too weak, or not coordinating properly, the result is pelvic floor dysfunction. That can show up as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, pain during sex, difficulty exercising, or a feeling that something “just isn’t right” in your core.

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized form of treatment that focuses on restoring strength, coordination, and muscle tone to this area. A doctor of physical therapy with advanced training in pelvic health evaluates how your pelvic floor is functioning, identifies the root cause of your symptoms, and builds a treatment plan around your specific needs and goals.

This is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and it goes well beyond basic pelvic floor exercises like Kegels. At Performance Shift, your pelvic floor therapist in Denver works with you one-on-one to address the full picture, whether that involves manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, neuromuscular re-education, breathing work, or progressive loading for return to sport.

Sports Performance

Sports performance training is a structured approach to developing the physical qualities athletes need to compete at a high level. It includes strength and power development, speed and agility work, mobility training, and injury prevention, all personalized to your sport, position, and goals. Unlike general fitness programs, performance training is designed around athletic outcomes and measurable progress.

Our programs serve youth athletes, high school and collegiate, professional and adult athletes, and teams. Whether you are building a foundation for your first competitive season or looking for an edge at the elite level, training is adapted to your current ability and goals. We also work with active adults who want to train with the structure and intentionality of a competitive program.

Personal training focuses on general fitness goals like weight loss, muscle gain, or overall health. If you’re searching for a personal trainer in Centennial or Denver, performance training takes it further. It’s built around athletic outcomes like improving speed, power, agility, and sport-specific movement patterns. Programming is periodized around your competitive season and uses objective testing to measure progress, not just effort.

No. Our programs are designed to meet athletes at every level, from beginners building a foundation to elite competitors refining their performance. Your coach will assess where you are and build a plan that matches your current ability and goals.

Most athletes benefit from two to four performance training sessions per week, depending on their sport schedule, season, and recovery needs. Your coach designs a training frequency that complements your practice and competition calendar so you are progressing without overtraining.

Training costs vary depending on the program type, session frequency, and whether you are training individually or as part of a team. We recommend starting with a consultation so we can understand your goals and recommend the right program. Contact us or book a consultation through our website for pricing details.

We work with athletes across a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, hockey, track and field, swimming, tennis, golf, skiing, CrossFit, mountain sports (mountain biking, road biking, trail running, skiing and snowboarding, etc.), and more. Every program is adapted to the specific movement patterns, energy demands, and competitive needs of your sport.

Yes. Injury prevention is a core component of every training program. We assess movement quality, identify imbalances and weaknesses, and build corrective exercises into your plan alongside strength and power work. The goal is to keep athletes healthy and performing at their best throughout the season.

Yes. We offer sport-specific team training programs for groups across the Denver metro area. Team sessions focus on building collective strength, speed, and conditioning through structured programming designed around the demands of your sport. Whether it’s a high school team preparing for the season or a club program looking to elevate performance, we build programming that develops every athlete on the roster. Contact us to discuss team training options.

Sports Physical Therapy

A sports physical therapist specializes in treating injuries related to athletic activity and helping athletes return to their sport safely. At The Performance Shift in Centennial, CO, our board-certified sports physical therapists use evidence-based assessment tools, including VALD force plate, force frame and dynamometry technology, to objectively measure your strength, movement quality, and readiness to return to sport.

Treatment typically includes hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, progressive strengthening, sport-specific movement training, and injury prevention strategies tailored to your goals. We also assess and correct muscle imbalances that can increase your risk of injury, helping you stay active and perform at your best.

The length of sports physical therapy depends on the injury, its severity, and your recovery goals. Most athletes work with their therapist for 6 to 12 weeks, though some conditions may resolve sooner and complex post-surgical cases may take longer.

At The Performance Shift, we use objective data from our assessment technology to track your progress and determine when you’re ready to return to full activity. Timelines are based on measurable outcomes, not arbitrary calendars. Many patients stay on for maintenance appointments throughout the year to complement training.

No. Colorado is a direct-access state, which means you can see a Doctor of Physical Therapy without a physician’s referral. You can book an evaluation directly with The Performance Shift, no referral or prescription needed.

Some insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so we recommend checking with your provider if you plan to submit for out-of-network benefits.

Dry needling is a technique where a licensed physical therapist inserts thin, sterile needles into trigger points or tight muscle tissue to reduce pain, release tension, and improve mobility. It is different from acupuncture. Dry needling is based on modern musculoskeletal science and targets specific neuromuscular dysfunction.

At The Performance Shift, our Denver sports physical therapists use dry needling as part of a comprehensive sports rehab program. It can also be used in conjunction with electrical stimulation to further reduce muscle tension and pain levels. Dry needling is particularly effective for conditions like muscle strains, tendinopathy, IT band syndrome, and post-surgical stiffness, and can be incorporated into recovery sessions to help reduce muscle soreness.

Return-to-sport testing is a series of objective assessments that measure whether an athlete is physically ready to safely resume their sport after injury or surgery. At The Performance Shift, we use VALD performance technology to measure strength symmetry, power output, and movement quality, giving you and your therapist clear, data-driven benchmarks rather than guesswork.

Testing typically includes force plate and force frame testing, single-leg hop testing, handheld dynamometry strength assessment, balance assessment, and sport-specific movement screening. Your results are compared against normative data and your pre-injury baselines.

Sports physical therapy focuses specifically on athletic injuries and performance recovery. While general physical therapy addresses a broad range of conditions, sports PT is tailored to the demands of your sport, including the specific movements, loads, and intensities you need to return to.

At The Performance Shift, our sports physical therapists are board-certified specialists with advanced training in sports medicine. We don’t just get you pain-free. We get you back to performing at or above your pre-injury level, using objective testing to confirm you’re truly ready.

Your first visit at The Performance Shift in Centennial starts with a one-on-one evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We’ll review your injury history, discuss your goals, and perform a thorough movement assessment. Depending on your needs, this may include VALD performance testing to measure strength, power, and movement symmetry with objective data.

You’ll also receive detailed education on your injury, pain mechanisms, and a clear plan to help you get back to feeling your best. From there, your therapist will build a personalized treatment plan that may include manual therapy, dry needling, sport-specific exercises, and a progressive return-to-activity program. Most initial evaluations last 60 to 90 minutes.

The Performance Shift is a cash-based, out-of-network physical therapy clinic. This model allows us to spend more one-on-one time with you, use advanced tools like VALD force plates, and blood flow restriction training, and focus on long-term performance outcomes rather than insurance-driven treatment limits.

If you have a PPO plan, your insurance may reimburse you for some or all of your visits. We provide superbills, which are detailed receipts with medical coding that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Typically, out-of-network benefits cover 40 to 80% of your visit cost. We also accept HSA and FSA payments for all physical therapy services.
