Dr. Alice Barnes

SPORTS PHYSICAL THERAPIST

FOUNDER OF THE PERFORMANCE SHIFt

From an early age, Alice was a multi-sport athlete participating in dance, soccer, lacrosse, and tennis. She spent summers traveling and meeting friends throughout the country at various camps and clinics, until going through the college recruiting process. Over the years she experienced several minor injuries that were managed in the athletic training room, but continued to return year after year. Upon entering the University of Michigan, Alice experienced a career ending injury that changed her perspective on training. When Alice entered graduate school to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, she hoped to someday empower athletes like herself to enhance their performance and increase the longevity of their athletic career.

When she’s not working with athletes, Alice enjoys mountain biking through the Aspens, trail running with her dog Bodie, skiing new terrain, and taking on new challenges like surfing and climbing. Alice is on a mission to help athletes of all ages and competition levels realize that there isn’t an end game.

Juju loved you and felt so comfortable with you and that is hugell! She didn't feel dumb or judged or embarrassed at any point and that is all because you have such a positive and bubbly personality that made her feel secure and at ease. Thank you for that.

There are times in life where we lean on medical professionals to care for our children. Knowing the thousands of providers we have, very seldom do you come across someone who truly cares, listens, follows up, empowers the person through treatments and takes the time to come and watch what their patients love to do- play sports.

Shannon R. (Parent of REal Colorado soccer Player)

Alice was outstanding from the moment she took over my case. She really took the time to listen and engage on the diagnosis of my knee problem. I felt engaged and part of the process throughout treatment. She understood my goals which were to get back to playing sports as soon as possible.
